- With close co-ordination with Amplify, a leading multinational company created a brand-new special “branch management trainee” scheme under which students were offered a fast-track position to work from their hometowns and grow the company’s business in the territory way faster. Companies find it difficult get professionally trained personnel to work at B-class towns and mofussil areas - the MD of this corporation personally strategized and achieved this miracle. Cost of living for students would be minimal and their productivity would be maximum thanks to their knowledge of local mores boosted by the wisdom gained from the management education at Amplify.
- Amplify identified very fast the sectors which were really providing placement opportunities in this tough season (Telecommunications, Insurance, Pharma and KPO), and focused very closely on them, dipping straight into the honey-pots instead of just buzzing around. The technical students were lapped up by specifically approaching the only niches in the IT industry which were recruiting.
- Amplify students undergo a continuously revised, balanced and rigorous program that ensures a thorough understanding of management concepts. Students hone their existing managerial, leadership, team, analytical and interpersonal skills by taking assignments and corporate interaction at Amplify Mindware. Workshops on career counselling, business etiquette, group discussions and interview skills, verbal and non-verbal communication skills are a regular feature at Amplify.
- Amplify saw the futility and damage done by a standard placement rule in all campuses: Once a student gets an offer, he/she would be barred from appearing for other companies coming in to the campus. This rule made students not attend interviews with companies coming early on at the campus, as they would wait for the “dream job”, and that either such company would not come in this season, or it would not select that student who staked his wait. Amplify students were thus encouraged to take up any opportunity that came up (of course above “AQL” – acceptable quality level) , earn and keep the offer in the pocket, to be used as a backup in case the “dream job” did not materialize. This strategy proved to be a solid success in this icy winter of a season.
- Student volunteers formed a cell which took the process of building databases of recruiters, contacting and approaching them, and conducting the interviews, a cakewalk: with the professional approach and huge motivation of the young MBA minds.
